INSTRUMENT DRILL
Getting our pipes and drums ready to play is done as follows.  Note that you can watch a video of this by following the links for each movement.

On the command “PIPES AND DRUMS READY” or “BAND READY” – video of Band Ready

	Pipers will:	Drummers will:
Count 1-2-3	bring the right hand up to the mouth piece	bring left and right hands to snare head
Count 1-2-3	put the mouth piece in your mouth	transfer stick to left hand grip
Count 1-2-3 4-5-6	move your hand onto your bag and inflate the bag	do nothing
Count 1	move your hand back to your side	move your right hand back to your side

 

On the command “BAND CARRY” – video of Band Carry

	Pipers will:	Drummers will:
Count 1-2-3	bring the right hand up to the mouth piece	transfer sticks to right hand
Count 1-2-3	move the mouth piece to the rest position	Do nothing
Count 1	move your hand back to your side	move your hand back to your side
